The Las Vegas Raiders parted ways with long-time quarterback Derek Carr a few years ago. By parted ways, I mean, Josh McDaniels, the former head coach of the Raiders, basically forced him out of town. But, that is a different conversation for a different day.
Since then, Carr hasn't been great, and the Raiders have had a quarterback issue, playing more than two quarterbacks both years since. But, Carr still holds a special place in many Raiders fan's hearts. He also is a guy that a lot of Raiders fans don't like anymore.
So, when the New Orleans Saints became a team on the Raiders' 2024 schedule, both sides of the Raiders fan base got excited about a Carr reunion. The only issue is, the game was scheduled late in the year. Now, we may not get to see that reunion game this year.
According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, there is fear that Carr has suffered a fracture in his left, non-throwing hand. And, if so, that could and should have him out past the game vs. the Raiders, which is in a few weeks.
The Raiders just lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, play the Atlanta Falcons next, then the Jacksonville Jaguars, and then the Saints. So, if it's not a fracture, but Carr still needs some time to heal, he will have two weeks and some.
