The Houston Texans are one of the best teams in the entire NFL, and their record reflects that at 6-2. The last time they started a season 62 or better was in 2012 when they were 7-1 at the pretty much halfway point through that season. The Texans are off to a great start, but they are starting to see their fair share of obstacles, something that every team gets throughout the year.

The Texans are now in desperate need of another wide receiver for star quarterback C.J. Stroud to throw to. Coming into this season, they had the best wide receiver room in the league, and it wasn't really close. They had three guys who could be seen as wide receivers 1s, and now they have one.

Nico Collins, who was off to as hot a start in the season as any wide receiver in the league, was placed on the injured reserve following Week 5's win over the Buffalo Bills after tweaking his hamstring in the first quarter. He hasn't seen the field since.

And on Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts, Stefon Diggs, who the Texans traded for this offseason from the Bills, tore his ACL. It was an injury that you could pretty much diagnose once you saw the non-contact part of the injury. He will be out for the remainder of the season.

Now, they need another wide receiver. Luckily, the trade deadline is coming up, and there are plenty of teams out there looking to sell at the deadline.

Three wide receivers Texans could trade for at deadline

Darius Slayton, New York Giants

Slayton is an experienced veteran in this league, and maybe that's what the Texans need. Think about what their room currently has. Sure, they have Robert Woods, who feels like he has been in the league for 30 years, but everyone else outside of that pretty much lacks experience.

Tank Dell, John Metchie, and Xavier Hutchinson all are very young with little experience as a starting wide receiver in this league. That doesn't mean they can't be good, because they can, but why not add a guy like Slayton, who can add to the depth of this team in different ways with his skill sets?

And, the Giants may very well be a team that sells. Well, they should be. Slayton has 420 receiving yards and one touchdown so far this year, which is on pace to be a career-high season from him. This would be the perfect time to go and grab a guy who's been in the league for six years.

Adam Thielen, Carolina Panthers

Here is another guy with plenty of experience but also has a bit left in the tank. Thielen isn't having an amazing season by any stretch of the imagination, but he is also on the worst team in the league with two different quarterbacks rotating what feels like every week. Thielen can greatly help the Texans with their newfound depth issues.

Thielen has eight catches for 109 yards so far this year, which isn't a good look on paper. But he still has it when you watch him run routes. He has also only gotten 12 targets so far, which really just isn't ideal at all through eight weeks.

Mike Williams, New York Jets

Mike Williams used to be known as the contested catch master, as he caught everything down the sideline, in the end zone, and anything else that was over a defender. But, that was with the Los Angeles Chargers and before a bunch of injuries. He has fallen off a bit, yes, but he is still good enough to be a valuable piece for the Texans.

As he currently sits behind Davante Adams, who was just traded to the Jets from the Las Vegas Raiders, Allan Lazard, and others, he is looking for a team that will give him a shot. He can do that in Houston. With 11 catches for 160 yards on just 19 targets, he can be a good piece to add to a contender in the Texans.

Now, none of these could end up happening, but what we do know is that General Manager Nick Caserio will be active. The trade deadline is November 5, and they still have a few days before they have to make a decision. Next, they will play the New York Jets next on Thursday Night Football.
