The Las Vegas Raiders have dealt with an abundance of injuries this season, and they all just so happen to be some of the more crucial injuries you can have, to players that you really don't need to lose. And then there are players, or a player, that they have been without for non-injury reasons, but personal reasons.

The Raiders have gone through it in terms of their roster and the players they have missed. That's not why the Raiders are as bad as they are, because the offense and coaching as a whole have been terrible.

But, the injuries and absences of certain players have been a part of the problem, even though they can't help it most of the time if not all of the time.

But, they could soon be getting back one of their starters that hasn't played yet this season.

“I think we’re getting close," Antonio Pierce said on Wednesday.

The Raiders could really use Mayer to not only help in the receiving department, as their weapons have looked a bit thin but also to use as an extra blocker so that Brock Bowers doesn't have to be. The pass protection has been awful, and Mayer is a good blocker.

The Raiders will be happy to have him back soon.

They will face the Cincinnati Bengals next, and then the Miami Dolphins, Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs again, and a lot more hard matchups.
