At 1-6 on the season, the Cleveland Browns now turn their focus to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 8. To start the practice week on Wednesday, the Browns will have a new quarterback taking the starter snaps following Deshaun Watson’s season-ending injury.

Head coach Kevin Stefanski confirmed that Jameis Winston would start against the Ravens, which was expected with how the game went against the Cincinnati Bengals last week.

Dorian Thompson-Robinson isn’t being held out of practice on Wednesday, but Kevin Stefanski revealed that the Browns are going to see how he does this week with the finger injury before deciding if he can suit up against the

Running back Jerome Ford (hamstring), safety Ronnie Hickman (ankle), linebacker Jordan Hicks (triceps, elbow), center Ethan Pocic (knee), and left tackle Jedrick Wills Jr. (knee) did not practice on Wednesday.

Winston is in line to start against the Ravens after completing 5-of-11 passes for 64 yards and a touchdown in the final minutes of the Week 7 loss. The veteran quarterback came into the game with just a few minutes remaining as the emergency quarterback.

If Cleveland decides to go the route of holding DTR out on Sunday, the backup would be Bailey Zappe, who the team recently signed off of the Kansas City Chiefs practice squad.

With Pocic and Wills dealing with injuries, it will be worth monitoring whether or not they will be able to suit up against the Ravens. Ideally, the Browns want to put Winston in the best spot to succeed, which would include having a healthy offensive line.

For a Cleveland offense that is yet to score 20 points in a game this year, Winston will try to help the Browns cross that embarrassing mark.
