The Houston Texans (4-1) are coming off a thrilling come-from-behind win over the Buffalo Bills (3-2) and now the team's attention is turned toward the reeling New England Patriots (1-4).
Both teams are on totally different trajectories, right now, as the Patriots are not only on track to end up with the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft – they officially started the Drake Maye era on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the Texans are leading the AFC South and are just a game behind the Kansas City Chiefs for the AFC lead. They also have one of the NFL's best young quarterbacks in CJ Stroud.
Either way, the phrase "any given Sunday" exists for a reason. The Texans need to take their AFC counterpart seriously or they could easily end up on the wrong side of a surprise come Sunday.
Will you be able to watch the game on TV? If you live in the orange areas on the map below you'll get this game on your local CBS channels, according to 506sports.com:

The Texans-Patriots game (green) is competing with two other games on CBS' 1pm ET schedule: Commanders at Ravens (red) and Titans vs. Colts (orange). The blue and yellow areas represent Steelers at Raiders and Broncos vs. Chargers, respectively, and both are afternoon kickoffs. It makes total sense for the Commanders-Ravens matchup to own the majority of the 1pm ET viewing areas, considering where both teams currently stand and the Lamar Jackson-Jayden Daniels storyline.
But, of course, there are plenty of other ways to watch in today's world. If you have YouTube TV, then there's obviously the Sunday Ticket package that comes with it. There are other streaming sites such as FuboTV, DAZN, and others, as well.
And, if you don't want to deal with any of that – you can always listen to the game on the Texans Radio Network.
CJ Stroud and the Texans' passing attack, plus the Texans defense against Drake Maye are the two main stories heading into this game
The Texans are currently -7 point favorites to win this game and that makes total sense, but they're going to have to make it happen without star receiver Nico Collins, who was placed on IR Wednesday with a hamstring injury. The NFL's leading receiver injured himself on the end of a deep touchdown pass from Stroud against the Bills in Week 5 and didn't return to the game. Now, he'll be out the next four games, at minimum.
It'll be interesting to see how Stroud and the passing attack adjusts without its best receiver, but it's not like the cupboard is bare, by any means. The trio of Stefon Diggs, Tank Dell, and Dalton Schultz is a very solid group and all three guys are bound to see more action with Collins on the sidelines.
It'll also be interesting to see how the Texans defense performs against Maye and vice-versa. First-round rookie QBs are always wild cards because of the lack of tape the league has on them, therefore DeMeco Ryans will have to tailor his game plan more around what the Patriots do on offense as a whole, as opposed to Maye's personal tendencies and abilities.
