The Washington Commanders (3-1) are the talk of the NFL and a ton of eyes are going to be on this week's matchup against the Cleveland Browns (1-3), but Washington may be without one of their best players when the game kicks off on Sunday.
Brian Robinson Jr., the Commanders' leading rusher, missed his second straight day of practice because of a knee injury he suffered during the team's 42-14 win over the Arizona Cardinals in Week 4.
Robinson's availability for Sunday is now in a lot of doubt since it's been two straight days of no practice. Wide receiver Noah Brown, a late offseason acquisition that has been trying to gain his footing with Jayden Daniels and the Commanders offense, was downgraded from a limited participant on Wednesday to a non-participant on Thursday. The veteran wideout is currently dealing with a groin injury and Thursday's designation certainly doesn't bode well for his Week 5 availability, either.

It's not all bad news for the Commanders, however, as starting guard Nick Allegretti, linebacker Dominique Hampton, safety Tyler Owens, running back Austin Ekeler, and defensive tackle Johnny Newton were all upgraded from their prior designations. They are all trending in the right direction, but Ekeler will have to pass a test conducted by an independent doctor before he's cleared to play. Everyone else can be cleared by the appropriate Commanders staffer.
Friday will give us an idea of the overall chances when it comes to Robinson Jr. and Brown, but even if both players are listed as questionable or doubtful, we won't know if they're playing until the Commanders either rule them out on Saturday or rule them out once inactives are turned in one-and-a-half hour before kickoff.
If the Commanders are without both Ekeler and Robinson Jr., it's going to be a big blow for the offense. Especially when considering the unit will be trying to score points against Myles Garrett and a tough Browns defense. The Commanders are going to need to be as balanced as possibly and can't just chuck the ball around the yard all day long. Daniels has been phenomenal, but even he needs help, and having at least one of these guys in the backfield will go a long way toward providing just that.
