Ohio State has paved their way to a 4-0 season so far to start the year and their schedule is about to get a whole lot tougher.

One of the areas that will help them through the tough parts of the schedule is the offensive line, which is off to a good start for the Buckeyes in 2024.

A key part of that offensive line is left tackle Josh Simmons, who is earning some very high praise to start the season.

The Atheltic’s Dane Brugler believes that Simmons could end up being a first-round draft pick in the 2025 NFL Draft if he keeps this level of play up.

“When betting on offensive line traits, give me the nimble blockers with flexible body control and strong finishing traits — which is a tidy way to sum up Simmons’ skill set. If he continues to play at this level the rest of the season, we might be adding another Buckeye to the first round.” – Dane Brugler, The Athletic

Ohio State has possible first-round talents in Quinshon Judkins, TreVeyon Henderson, Emeka Egbuka, Tyliek Williams, and Denzel Burke. If the Buckeyes are able to make Simmons a first-rounder, you can bet they have a chance at having the most players selected in the opening round next April.

Simmons transferred to Ohio State last season and started all 13 games. The previous year he had made 13 starts for San Diego State. By the time his career is over, Simmons will have north of 40 starts and be a seasoned college player.

The left side of that offensive line for Ohio State is very strong. Donovan Jackson is an early-round talent at left guard for the Buckeyes as well.

It appears that Simmons coming to Ohio State may just pay off in a big way, and he will hear his name called very early in the next draft possibly.
