The Miami Dolphins have been horribly hamstrung (pun somewhat intended) by the injury bug early in this ugly 2024 season.
Add another name to this list, and it's one that is particularly painful for the Miami Dolphins' offense.
RB De'Von Achane suffered a concussion in the first quarter of the Dolphins' clash with the New England Patriots on Sunday afternoon at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts. He's been ruled out by the team.
Achane took a handoff to the right side, and he was tackled near the sideline. As he was going to the ground, his head appeared to slam off the turf and he was slow getting up.
Concussions have been a particularly concerning injury this season for the Dolphins. Obviously, none more so than with Tua Tagovailoa, who went on injured reserve after suffering yet another one in Week 2 in a 31-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills. LT Terron Armstead and CB Kendall Fuller have both also been in concussion protocol for the team the last couple of weeks.
Now, Miami will be out at least the rest of this contest without their biggest potential playmaker out of the backfield. Given the struggles Miami has had pushing the ball down the field in the passing game, having a reliable game-breaking threat in the checkdown game is key.
They'll have to find a way to try to overcome a 7-3 halftime deficit without him.
