Texas football players dismissive of Oklahoma LB Danny Stutsman T-shirt designed to stir the Red River rivalry

Texas players were reminded Monday about the opportunistic Danny Stutsman creating a now-iconic T-shirt after last year’s Sooners victory.
A photo captured Stutsman sitting in his Cotton Bowl locker, wearing the Golden Hat trophy and smoking a cigar. That image landed on the front of the shirt. The back featured a simple message, at least for OU fans.
“Oklahoma only fears God. Texas fears Oklahoma.”
Stutsman was photographed wearing a white shirt with OU coach Brent Venables wearing the black version. Those shirts are still available for $34, by the way.

“It’s a new season. We’ve got a whole new team,” UT safety Michael Taaffe said Monday. “I'm not too focused about what they did last year about what we did last year but I do remember everything.”
Texas linebacker David Gbenda shrugged off a question about the shirt, too.
“I’m not really worried about that, honestly,” Gbenda said. “Like, that’s good for him, but that was last year. I’m worried about this year and who we’re going against now. All I know is right now he’s a pretty good linebacker, and he’s a leader and a voice on that team. So whatever antics have going on, aren’t really worried about it.”
Defensive end Barryn Sorrell said: “I mean, it was cool. He had fun with that. And that’s all good, but we just focus on this game, and we’ll see what that looks like after the game.”
Every coach loves good bulletin board material, especially when it comes from the other team. But Texas coach Steve Sarkisian doesn’t strike you as someone who will be too upset about a T-shirt.
“Hey, I love to say that everything we do is internally motivated,” Sarkisian said. “But as a coach, sometimes to be able to find some external motivators to help is good. But to think I’m going to have to give some Knute Rockne speech to get ready for this game is probably not true.
“I would probably show up kickoff and our guys will be ready to play on Saturday morning.”
