The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-1) are coming off an extremely disappointing loss to the Denver Broncos, making the upcoming matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles all the more important than it already was.

One of the many reasons the Bucs lost to the Broncos was because of the injuries along both the defensive and offensive lines. Starters Vita Vea, Luke Goedeke, and Calijah Kancey all missed the game and it clearly impacted the overall outcome.

When it comes to the Vea’s and Goedeke’s availability for Sunday, things got off to a great start, as both players returned to practice. Even if they end up being listed as limited, it’s an encouraging sign.

Neither player is guaranteed to play, but SI’s JC Allen reported Tuesday that Goedeke is expected to clear concussion protocol and play against the Eagles. There obviously are tests left that he still has to pass, including one from an independent doctor, but it certainly seems like Goedeke is in a good spot.

It remains to be seen what happens with Kancey and if he makes any progress, this week. Allen also reported Wednesday that Kancey is “getting closer” to his return and it shouldn’t be much longer.

Either way, the developments surrounding Vea and Goedeke are exactly what the Bucs were hoping for as they begin their week of preparation.
