This week in college football brought a handful of surprises, including UNLV losing its starting backfield to self-imposed redshirts. But the USC Trojans, sitting at 2-1, likely didn't expect the latest announcement.

Possible 2025 NFL Draft prospect and former elite recruit Bear Alexander decided to take a redshirt season and transfer out of the program.

Alexander, with only four tackles this season, had not seen the type of impact many had hoped for. He produced 48 tackles, seven tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks in 2023. But Alexander's troublesome path continues.

As our esteemed Managing Editor pointed out, Alexander has never spent more than two years in one place. He's played on six teams since his freshmen season in high school, and it's his third decommitment or transfer. It's a terrible look.

Even 2025 3-star recruit and USC commit Gus Cordova had to chime in.

"See ya 🐻", Cordova tweeted, with a photo of himself in USC garb.

The 6-foot-3, 246-pound defensive lineman will compete to take Alexander's spot next year.

Meanwhile, Alexander will look for greener pastures, searching for whatever it is that he couldn't find at Georgia or USC.
