The Kansas City Chiefs are looking to keep their undefeated season alive, but they have a very tough Buffalo Bills squad that stands in their way.
However, the Chiefs just got some key injury updates that could make things a lot better for them heading into Week 11.
According to NFL Insider Jordan Schultz, Kansas City is opening the 21-day practice windows for star running back Isiah Pacheco and defensive lineman Charles Omenihu.
Head coach Andy Reid alluded to this on Monday when speaking with reporters. He also provided an update on wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster who has been sidelined with a hamstring injury.
"They're all close. JuJu (Smith-Schuster) is closer than the other two," Reid said. "I'd tell you, we might have them out there (at practice). They're all very close, all three of them."
For Pacheco, the running back has been out since Week 2 after suffering a fractured fibula. He was placed on injured reserve and given a 6-8 week timeline.
And then there is Omenihu who has been on the Reserve/PUP list. The defensive lineman has yet to play in 2024 after suffering a season-ending ACL injury last year. But before the injury, he had seven sacks, so Kansas City would be getting a key piece back.
Plus, they could certainly use him when going up against a quarterback like Josh Allen. It's not a guarantee that either Pacheco or Omenihu will be activated for Week 11's game in Buffalo, but even having them back at practice should be a boost for the team.
The Chiefs roster is already very dangerous, especially with the two trade deadline acquisitions of DeAndre Hopkins and Joshua Uche. So, just imagine how things would be if the entire team was healthy and ready to go.
That three-peat chances look even better now.
