The Las Vegas Raiders should have a master plan in place — lose any and every game you can. But, somehow still be competitive. It's not an easy thing to do, but they are doing it. Well, kind of, the competitive part is the tricky part. Losing seems to be easy for them.

But for some reason, the Raiders keep doing things that show they think they can win more football games and make the playoffs. If you're not going to make the playoffs, what's the point of winning games? At that point, it becomes pointless.

The Raiders are 2-7 now, with a very hard schedule coming up against the Miami Dolphins, Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Atlanta Falcons, New Orleans Saints, and Los Angeles Chargers remaining.

They could win out and have a shot at the playoffs, but even then, they could still miss the playoffs. So, why even try when it's very clear you do not have a good football team at all? Making the coaching change for Norv Turner as an assistant to his son, Scott Turner, the new interim offensive coordinator, shows they think they can fix the team.

It doesn't make much sense. Not many teams ever, if any ever, have made the playoffs after a 2-7 start. So, they need to stop making moves they think will make them better, and make some decisions that make them worse.

And, it seems like maybe that idea and mindset finally hit head coach Antonio Pierce.

Earlier this week, he let everyone know that during the bye week, they probably wouldn't practice at all, as they needed the rest to get healthy. And that's fine. That's normal. However, it's not normal when the team just fired an offensive coordinator and brought in a new face from the outside just a few days ago.

Don't they need to get him up to speed with all of the players? I'm sure this is a lot of work that needs to be done, yet the Raiders aren't going to practice. That's a tank-worthy move right there, which is what the Raiders need to be doing.
