We are more than halfway through the 2024 NFL season, and nearing the end of the regular season for College Football. That is bringing a lot more clarity for the 2025 NFL Draft class. That includes the best prospects in the class, and the team needs on the NFL side.
In my recent 2025 NFL two-round mock drafts over at A to Z Sports, the Denver Broncos came away with arguably my favorite overall haul. I dipped twice into the SEC, selecting two very well-known names to College Football fans.
It began in the first round, where the Broncos selected Missouri All-American wide receiver Luther Burden with the No. 19 overall selection. Here is my analysis on the Burden pick, and his fit with the Broncos.
19. Denver Broncos: Luther Burden, WR, Missouri
Quarterback Bo Nix is playing good football for the Broncos, and surrounding him with wide receiver talent seems like a wise investment. Burden is a space dynamo who can make a ton of plays after the catch. It feels like Burden would mesh really well to Nix’s play style.
With how well Bo Nix is playing at quarterback for the Broncos, upgrading the wide receiver talent around him is a must. Burden is a dynamic space player, and they just don’t have a player quite like him. His work in the RPO and screen game would be big time.
Nix is also a signal caller that wants to get the football out of his hands quickly. That plays perfectly into Burden’s skill set, excelling as a quick separator.
In the second round, the Broncos then selected South Carolina defensive tackle TJ Sanders with the 52nd selection. Adding talented move pieces like Sanders in the second round is always a sound investment.
At 6-4 and 290 pounds, Sanders is an incredibly talented athlete. He has the upside to be a penetration threat, but also has the raw power to work at the point of attack. Adding him to a group that has guys like Zach Allen and John Franklin-Myers is an impressive trio.
