The Detroit Lions walked into a big NFC North battle with the rival Green Bay Packers at Lambeau and in the rain. This is a game that the old Lions were destined to lose. But these aren't the old Lions, these are the new Lions and the new Lions didn't sweat the rain on their way to a 24-14 win.

Goff Report

One of the big raps on Goff has always been that he's supposedly really bad in weather. Well, we proved that wasn't true earlier this week and then Goff further proved that on Sunday night by completing 81.8% of his passes for 145 yards and a touchdown. In think he's pretty good in the weather.

Stone Cold Brian Branch

It was hard to understand why Branch got ejected in this game, but then we saw him throwing up the double bird and now it makes more sense.

It's actually a bit of shocker that Branch did hit Clete Blakeman with the stunner afterwards and then drink a couple of Busch Lights.

Oh the weather outside is weather

Remember that moment from Shawshank Redemption where Andy Dufresne crawled through the sewage pipe and came out on the other side and it was raining like crazy and he took his shirt off and stood triumphantly in the rain? That's the kind of rain that was happening in Green Bay Sunday night.

The big question that everyone, and I mean everyone, had leading up to the game was about whether or not the Lions could be good in the rain. I think we saw the answer to that and the answer was yes.

We already talked about Goff, but everyone played well. The offense was good, the defense was good, the special teams guys played well too.

Kerby Six

Kerby Joseph's awareness is just at another level right now. If I were making the Madden ratings, I'd have his awareness at 99. He just gets himself in the right spots all the time. He reads the situation and makes a move. You could see that on his pick six in this game and you could see it on the other five interceptions he has this year.

Run game

The Lions did what was expected of them early in the game and they got some productive runs from both David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs. The Packers were able to really shut them down in the second half though. That was until David Montgomery ran it down the Packers' throats on the final drive of the game. Still, the Lions had a decent run game with both guys combining for 138 yards and a touchdown.

Tom Brady

I think Brady has gotten a lot better at this as the season has gone on. He's fun to listen to because you know this guy has a ton of experience in what he's talking about. With that said, he did spend a solid 3-5 minutes talking about how good looking Packers head coach Matt LaFleur is. I won't dispute it, he's a good looking cat, but tell me more good stuff about the Lions instead please.
