The Houston Texans got new uniforms this offseason, and while it's safe to say that there were a lot of mixed emotions about them during the offseason, the NFL world as a whole agrees that these new ones are better than the old ones.
And now they have one more uniform than they did before. Prior to this year, they had blue tops with whatever pants, white tops with whatever pants, and red tops with whatever pants, usually red. Oh, and the same helmet. Now, they have four entirely different uniforms, each with a tie to the city, culture, and history of the team.
Last week they debuted their all-red uniforms, which are considered to be the "candy apple paint" uniforms that, let me just say, are amazing. But, that sadly came in a loss to the Detroit Lions.
The Texans play another primetime game this weekend, but this time against their in-state rival the Dallas Cowboys. In this game, the Texans announced that they had decided to wear their all-navy uniforms.
And that decision is one that could have history on their side.
A lot of people are superstitious when it comes to things like uniforms. There are fans of every team that don't like certain uniforms combos because the team has a losing record in them. Well, the last time the Texans wore the all-navy look with this version of the uniforms, they won.
They beat the Green Bay Packers in Week 7, and then they beat the Buffalo Bills in Week 5 but with their alternate all-navy "H-Town" uniforms that have the Houston blue on them.
So, who knows, if you're one of those people, this could be great news.
