I'm sure there's going to be a lot of people wondering about that headline. How could I write such a thing after Detroit Lions' quarterback Jared Goff went out there and had arguably the worst game of his entire career? Maybe throw out the arguably, he threw a career high five interceptions. That was really bad.

Here's the thing, we just put out this article earlier last week where Goff sat down with former Cowboys coach Jason Garrett and Garrett read Goff's old scouting report that Garrett made in 2016. Some of the key words Garrett said in there were "calm' and "right nervous system." Also couple that with Dan Campbell constantly talking about Goff's mental toughness.

It showed last night when it absolutely needed to the most. Goff had the worst three quarters of his entire career, but he didn't fold. He came out in the fourth quarter and went 6-8 for 79 yards and a touchdown. He also led the the team down the field for the game tying field goal and the game winning field goal. He showed up when he needed to despite going through hell first.

That is why you pay Goff that money. Sure, there's guys out there that can throw the ball while flying through the air, there's guys that can take off with their feet and there's guys that can throw the ball out of the stadium, but if they can't dig themselves out of the grave to help their team win, none of that matters.

Goff just doesn't let things get to him. You wouldn't blame any quarterback in the league for throwing five picks and then turtling the rest of the game or just showing a complete lack of confidence. Goff never did that. In fact, he just never does that.

This isn't the first time that we've seen this from Goff. Last year he had three picks against the Bears and then just turned it up in the fourth quarter and led the Lions down field for a come from behind win.

Again, you might think it's crazy for me to make this statement, but this what you want to see from a quarterback when things are going bad and this is why he deserves every dime he got this offseason.
