Raiders WR Jakobi Meyers has done what very few undrafted players ever have even after loss to Dolphins

I'm not sure we can talk enough about how great Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Jakobi Meyers has been throughout his career with the cards he has been dealt. Let's just start with the fact that he was an undrafted player out of NC State. A quarterback in high school and in his freshman year at NC State, Meyers doesn't have the same experience playing the position as other guys do in the league. So, that certainly hasn't been something that has boosted him in his career.
But, he has made the most of it, and you can honestly say that Meyers is one of the greatest undrafted wide receivers ever, especially when you look at the stats.
He had a career year last year in a bad offense for the Raiders. And with some missed games this year, he doesn't quite have the same numbers, but has still performed well, and even started to break records and put his name on the same list as some of the best to ever do it who went undrafted.
Here are some of the accomplishments that Meyers has from this game alone that the Raiders PR team tweeted out:
WR Jakobi Meyers has now surpassed 4,000 career receiving yards, one of just 17 undrafted players in NFL history to reach 4,000 receiving yards in his first six seasons. Meyers is also one of 10 undrafted players in NFL history to reach 4,000 career receiving yards in his first 84 career games. WR Jakobi Meyers logged a 20-yard run in the Raiders opening offensive drive. Since joining the Raiders in 2023, Meyers has rushed 6 times for 47 yards (7.8 avg.) and 2 TDs. His 7.8 yards per carry ranks 11th in the NFL since 2023 among WRs (min. 5 att.). WR Jakobi Meyers now has 350 career receptions, one of just five undrafted players in NFL history to record 350+ receptions in 84 career games or less.
The Raiders are now 2-8 and are somewhat wasting away the talent that is Meyers. But, the good news is that he will still be on the team next year when the Raiders have a young rookie quarterback. That gives the rookie not only a reliable tight end to throw to in Brock Bowers but also a reliable, good veteran in Jakobi Meyers.
He's been good this year and throughout his career. With what he has been dealt, it's hard to say Meyers hasn't exceeded expectations.
The Raiders play the Denver Broncos and the Kansas City Chiefs next, as they are currently on a six-game losing streak. With how their schedule is looking, with games against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Atlanta Falcons, New Orleans Saints, and Los Angeles Chargers remaining, they could end up having the worst record in the NFL.
Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers just had the best game of any rookie at his position ever
The Raiders have a special kid.
