The Tennessee Vols could be in danger of losing a 2025 commit according to one national college football recruiting analyst
On3's Steve Wiltfong noted on Monday that 2025 three-star defensive lineman Darrion Smith could flip from Tennessee to Auburn.
Smith has been committed to the Vols since late July.
"Auburn could flip Tennessee defensive tackle commit Darrion Smith. That’s trending well ahead of his upcoming official visit," wrote Wiltfong.
Smith, 6-foot-2/265 lbs from Baltimore, MD, is rated by 247Sports as the No. 44 defensive lineman in the nation and the No. 12 player in the state of Maryland.
The Tennessee commit is scheduled to take an official visit to Auburn for the Tigers' game against the Texas A&M Aggies this upcoming Saturday.
Smith visited Tennessee earlier this season for the Vols' wins against Florida and Alabama. He called the atmospheres for those games "crazy" in an interview with GoVols247.
"They (Tennessee) don't want me to go down there (Auburn), but they know where I stand," said Smith to 247Sports in October. "I'm pretty solid."
Smith is planning to sign in December, so we'll see how "solid" his commitment to Tennessee is in just a few short weeks.
