Two Lions could make NFL history this season, here's what they need to do in the next seven games to make it happen

What's bigger is that these two Lions have a very good chance to make NFL history this season by becoming just the eighth duo to rush for 1,000 yards each in a season.
This just does not happen a lot. The last time that two guys did it was back in 2019 when Lamar Jackson and Mark Ingram did it. The last time two running backs did it was back in 2009 when Jonathan Stewart and DeAngelo Williams did it for the Panthers.
So what do Gibbs and Montgomery need to do to pull this off? Keep running the ball obviously. But let's dig into more.
Gibbs is currently at 796 yards rushing. He needs 204 more yards in seven games to get to 1,000. That's 30 yards per game. Gibbs is currently averaging 79.6 yards per game. I think he's got a shot here.
Montgomery has 595 yards rushing at the moment. He needs 404 yards to get to 1,000 in the next seven games. He has to have at least 58 yards per game until then. He averaging 59.5 yards per game this season. He has a shot.
Montgomery is really the one to watch here. It's close at the moment. These guys almost achieved this last season, but came 55 yards short. Luckily the Lions are a running team and they run it well. They can make this happen by the end of the year.
Dan Campbell finds an interesting parallel between Lions’ running backs Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery and Sonic & Knuckles
Anyone that grew up in the early 90's and had a Sega remembers how big of a deal it was when Sonic and Knuckles came out. If you had the Sonic 2 game (which I still believe 32 years later is one of the best games of all time) or Sonic 3, you could get […]
