The Ohio State football program is known for churning out excellent wide receivers, but are the Buckeyes becoming more of a power in the trenches? The NFL made its final cuts ahead of the 2024 season this week, and the Buckeyes are well-represented across the league.
Let's take a look at the eight Buckeyes who are on active rosters or injury reports.
Ohio State Has Produced 8 NFL Offensive Linemen
Let's take a look at the nine former Buckeyes who have earned their way onto NFL rosters in 2024.
- Paris Johnson Jr., LT, Arizona Cardinals
- Dawand Jones, RT, Cleveland Browns
- Taylor Decker, LT, Detroit Lions
- Josh Myers, OC, Green Bay Packers
- Jonah Jackson, LG, Los Angeles Rams
- Thayer Munford, RT, Las Vegas Raiders
- Nicholas Petit-Frere, RT, Tennessee Titans
- Luke Wypler, OC, Cleveland Browns
Paris Johnson Jr., LT, Arizona Cardinals
Paris Johnson Jr. was the sixth overall pick of the 2023 NFL Draft for Arizona and has thus far looked the part of being a franchise blocker. Tasked with keeping Kyler Murray upright, Johnson is the face of an offensive line still getting upgraded.
Dawand Jones, RT, Cleveland Browns
Although Dawand Jones is a backup for the Cleveland Browns right now, he's looked like a starting-caliber option in limited playing time. The mammoth right tackle is as strong as they come, and should see the field for the Browns by 2025.
Taylor Decker, LT, Detroit Lions
Now 31 and entering a critical part of his $60 million contract, Taylor Decker is the dinosaur of the Buckeyes' offensive line players. He's still one of the best, though, and just needs to stay healthy to continue on with the Lions throughout the remaining four years of his deal.
Josh Myers, OC, Green Bay Packers
Green Bay's franchise center will soon be one of the highest-paid players at the position. The athletic middleman has quickly become a reliable run-blocker, providing the Packers with a huge boost as they've revamped the rest of the line around him.
Jonah Jackson, LG, Los Angeles Rams
It was a great offseason for Jonah Jackson. The Rams lured him away from Detroit with a fat $51 million deal. He's the fourth-highest-paid LG in the league, so you know he's one of the finest in the NFL.
Thayer Munford, RT, Las Vegas Rams
There was speculation the Rams could move Thayer Munford inside to guard, but they opted to add an interior blocker in the draft before DJ Glaze in the third round. Munford is still better than the rookie, so he's starting this season.
Nicholas Petit-Frere, RT, Tennessee Titans
Starting at right tackle, Nicholas Petit-Frere is looking to hit a boost in his development. Their 2022 third-round pick, NPF was a better athlete than player at Ohio State. He's still looking for the right amount of seasoning in the NFL, but new OL coach Bill Callahan will help tremendously.
Luke Wypler, OC, Cleveland Browns
The last player on this list is Luke Wypler. He's on the injured list and not the active roster, but Wypler could prove to be a future starter for the Browns in 2025 or 2026.
