The Miami Dolphins made a waiver claim on Tuesday to address one of the most pressing areas of their roster.

The Dolphins claimed WR Grant DuBose from the Green Bay Packers.  Green Bay waived DuBose on Tuesday as the Packers worked to get down to their 53-man roster.

Because DuBose was claimed off waivers the Dolphins have to put him on their active 53-man roster. To accommodate the move, general manager Chris Grier announced during his press conference on Wednesday that the Dolphins released OL Jack Driscoll.

"He's got size, he's tough," Grier said about DuBose. "Really good route runner.  He's got good hands.  It was how physical he is in his play. Obviously, Mike knows a lot of people up there in Green Bay with relationships as well as I do, and they're all very high on him. They said it was a very hard decision for them to move on from him. So, it was an opportunity that we're excited for, just working for where we are right now."

DuBose was indeed a player that appeared to perhaps be on the right side of the cut line in Green Bay.  The second-year player, who played his college football at Charlotte, was the Packers' leading receiver in the team's preseason opener with 5 catches for 66 yards.  Unfortunately for DuBose, the Packers are as deep at wide receiver as just about any team in the league.

Now, Miami will add a player who gives them size on the outside.  His physicality should also allow him to contribute as a blocker in Miami's boundary running game, which, given the makeup of the WR room (hint: smaller and quicker), isn't something that should be overlooked.
