The Alabama Crimson Tide passed their first true test of the 2024 season with flying colors on Saturday.

Dominating the Wisconsin Badgers, (in Camp Randall of all places) wasn't surprising, but still respectable.

Yet in this week's rankings, while the Tide did rise, the team in front of them has some explaining to do.

Alabama Crimson Tide Jump From 6th to 5th in Week 3 SEC Power Rankings

The Crimson Tide jumped around in Madison to a 42-10 victory. It easily becomes Alabama's best win of the season, but a lack of consistency in the passing game.

As you can see, the Tide trail the Georgia Bulldogs ahead of their huge matchup in less than two weeks. If the Bulldogs took care of business on Saturday night, I doubt anyone would bat an eye.

Instead, call it playing with their food or looking ahead, they nearly faltered to the Kentucky Wildcats, narrowly escaping Lexington with a 13-12 win.

The Bulldogs went to Lexington and got a struggle win 13-12 over Big Blue Nation. Georgia only managed 262 yards of total offense and didn't take the lead until late in the game. It's always good to get a road win in the SEC, but the offensive stuggles will create two weeks of questions before the Dawgs travel to Tuscaloosa.

Both offenses have lacked consistency through this point of the season, and the Tide have some injury questions that have to be answered between now and Saturday night, Sept 28th.

But with one team coming off their best win of the year, and the other looking flat, we'll see how the power rankings really shake out in a little under two weeks.
