Monday may have been a day off from practice, but there's never downtime for coaches and GMs in the NFL.

Despite taking care of the Atlanta Falcons, the Pittsburgh Steelers dealt with a loss at the punter position and decided to address it with a familiar face

With an open roster spot after placing rookie Logan Lee on the I.R. Pittsburgh has also filled that void, and with yet another former Steeler:

Steelers sign safety Terrell Edmunds

Poaching him off the Jacksonville Jaguars practice squad, the 2018 first-round pick is headed back to Pittsburgh after a shaky tenure since departing in 2023. Signing in free agency with the Philadelphia Eagles, Edmunds was then traded to the Tennessee Titans ahead of the trade deadline last season before signing with the Jacksonville Jaguars this offseason.

One of the more polarizing players in recent Pittsburgh memory, some believed Edmunds was a solid starter, while others viewed him as more of a liability in coverage given his downhill playstyle.

Either way, he will have a tough time working into the rotation, which features a big nickel package of Minkah Fitzpatrick, DeShon Elliott, and Damontae Kazee. Perhaps useful as a dime player, Edmunds is great depth in the case of injury and immediate special teams help if nothing else.
