With the Tennessee Volunteers coming to Norman for a critical game against the Oklahoma Sooners, it's important to have all hands on deck for both squads.

Injury reports have already come out, with some good news for the Sooners, as many key players are ramping back up and appear ready to play this weekend after missing time throughout the beginning of the season.

On the flip side, there was a key injury that showed up that might be a cause for concern for Tennessee fans. Starting left tackle Lance Heard missed last week's game against Kent State, and emerged on the injury report with an ankle injury. Heard was labeled as questionable.

Now with the game right around the corner, there appears to be even more concern about Heard's availability heading into this game.

Speaking on the SoonerScoop show, Volquest publisher Brent Hubbs spoke about Heard's status heading into this game.

"When we asked Josh Heupel postgame on Saturday night specifically about Lance Heard, he said he was held out as a precaution, but he could have played. So it was a surprise to see him pop up as questionable on the injury report. Making some calls, checking around, that's not a gamesmanship thing. There is some real concern about what his level of availability for Saturday night might be."

Heard was a high-priority target that the Sooners fought for in the transfer portal before he decided on Tennessee. He's clearly a talented player, so this could be good news for Oklahoma ahead of such a pivotal game.

Their game plan should revolve around making Nico Iamaleava uncomfortable and getting rushers in his face to disrupt his timing and get him rattled. Iamalaeva will be making his first-ever road start in what should be a loud environment in Norman this weekend.

Oklahoma's pass rush has taken major strides this season, highlighted by R Mason Thomas's tremendous game against Tulane last weekend. Thomas was named the Bronko Nagurski National Player of the Week for his three-sack day against the Green Wave.
