Raiders' Maxx Crosby is finally getting the recognition from the NFL that he greatly deserved last season

The Las Vegas Raiders have an advantage over any team they play in the NFL, at all times, too. Yes, I know, it's hard to believe, how does a team that has been as bad as they have, have an advantage over any team, ever? Well, its name is Maxx Crosby, the best defensive player in the world. And, maybe the best overall player in the world right now.
Crosby has been the best of the best for a bit now but is only getting better every single year. He was snubbed of the Defensive Player of the Year Award last season, big time, finishing fourth in votes with no first-place votes. That alone is absolutely wild. But, he got in the lab and got better. He's had a stellar start to the season, maybe the best start of any defensive lineman.
Sure, you could say that Detroit Lions defensive end Aidan Hutchinson is having a great start with six sacks. In Week 1 against the Los Angeles Rams, he played a make-shift backup offensive line across the board and still finished with 1.5 sacks. Against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he played backup offensive tackles all game long and finished with 4.5 sacks.
If you watch the tape, even that 4.5-sack game isn't near as impressive as what Crosby did against the Baltimore Ravens last week. And, that's showing in the awards, too, as Crosby is finally getting a bit of the recognition he deserves. This week, he was awarded the AFC Defensive Player of the Week Award, as he finished the game with two sacks, four tackles for loss, and one pass deflection.
After winning the award, the Raiders PR team tweeted out a sweet fact about Crosby's award and what it means historically.
DE Maxx Crosby notches his 5th career AFC Defensive Player of the Week award, the most by any defender in Raiders history. Crosby now has 6 total Player of the Week awards (5 Defensive, 1 Special Teams), tied for the third most total awards in franchise history – only behind K Sebastian Janikowski (7) and Hall of Fame WR Tim Brown (7).
Crosby is on pace for a DPOY season, one that he deserved last year, or at least more recognition than he got. Playing the Carolina Panthers, who have allowed the most sacks in the NFL, tied with the Raiders, ironically, will be a great game for him to stack on top of his last, to continue to make a case for himself.
And, he has done this with the second and third-best edge rushers for the Raiders opposite of him, which only hurts him more because the other team can spend more time on him.
Crosby is on a different level right now and even got the best parking spot at the practice facility because of it.
