In what appeared to be a terrifying video surfacing on Friday morning, there was concern that former New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees had been struck by lightning.

Two days ago Brees tweeted that he was flying to a 'top-secret' location to film an ad for PointsBet Sportsbook. That top-secret location was in Catatumbo, Venezuela, one of the most dangerous places in the world when it comes to lightning.

In the video, it appears that Brees gets struck by lightning, and it causes people to ask questions immediately. Why would they post it if Brees really got struck by lightning?

Then, PointsBet sends out their statement but has no real answer on if Brees is okay.

Not long after, we find out via Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football, who is an insider for the Saints, that Brees is okay, and PointsBet was doing a spoof as they have a thing called 'Lightning Bets.' When asked if the report was from sources, Underhill responded with "yes."

Then, another insider by the name of Katherine Terrell who covers the Saints for ESPN said this:

So, it would appear that this was all for a stunt. Saints fans can rest easy knowing the greatest player in the history of their franchise is okay.
