The Las Vegas Raiders did the unthinkable on Thursday Night football.
With their season on the line against a struggling Los Angeles Rams team, the Raiders blew another double digit lead in the second half.
It's the mantra of the season for Josh McDaniels' first year in Las Vegas. His decisions offensively in the second half doomed the Raiders.
His passive play-calling bounced back to destroy his team once again.
The lack of a passing game against an inconsistent Rams' passing defense was mind-boggling.
Davante Adams had a strong first half, and other passing options were getting open. Instead of pushing the ball downfield at all, McDaniels chose to continue to run the ball.
Davante Adams was consistently making plays on deep throws, but McDaniels refused to trust Derek Carr enough to let him sling it. It bailed out the Rams.
The Raiders' defense held together for about three quarters.
The fourth quarter was a bit rough, but the offense should have gotten them a much bigger lead by then. It was inexcusable from McDaniels and the Raiders' offense.
Josh Jacobs has had an amazing year, but the running game behind a below average offensive line was not working well against the Rams. Not to mention, the Rams were without star defensive lineman Aaron Donald, too.
The efficiency still wasn't there for Jacobs and the Raiders. McDaniels chose to ignore that, and it costed his team any remaining chance at th postseason in all likelihood.
