The New Orleans Saints' offense is a bit of a conundrum.

They got the job done against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 15. Something just feels a bit off, still, though. The unit started off very smooth. The first half was pretty efficient from the offense.

The Saints used a good mix of Alvin Kamara, Taysom Hill, Chris Olave, and Rashid Shaheed. That's what everyone has been asking for in New Orleans. Then, they went away from that a bit as the game progressed.

There was one major play calling aspect that stood out once again for the Saints.

Their lack of screen play calls on offense was quite clear. The Saints didn't run a single one on Sunday. That's pretty mind boggling, considering their history with the screen play to their running backs or wide receivers.

Alvin Kamara saw a couple of looks in the passing game, but they were not designed screens for him to break open.

Also, no wide receivers got screen play looks. Usually, the Saints will mix in at least one for one of their dynamic pass catchers. That didn't happen against Atlanta. They scored 21 points, and that got them a win. Fans are looking for more consistency from Pete Carmichael Jr.'s unit, though.

They seem to shy away from what is working too early in order to throw curveballs at defenses. That hasn't worked often enough and could've costed them against the Falcons if their defense didn't make a big stop at the end of the game.

The lack of screen plays is something to keep an eye on in the final weeks of this season.
