The Denver Broncos (2-4) are fresh off another overtime heart break. All in the midst of RB drama with Melvin Gordon and QB Russell Wilson having a historically bad season.

Denver is falling well below expectations and is not only in danger of missing the playoffs but finishing last in the AFC West. Again. Can it get any worse?

Yes. Yes it can.

Even with Wilson's poor play, he is still their best option at quarterback. However, a new development following his Monday Night performance may leave long-term effects on the Broncos season as he will now have an MRI done on his hamstring.

The news was first reported by Zac Stevens of DVNR Sports.

Through six games, Wilson is suffering career lows in completion percentage (58.6), net yards per attempt (5.87) and total QBR (83.4). An injury to his hamstring which could sideline him for a number of games would be a huge blow to a huge blow of a season.

If Wilson is to miss time, the Denver Broncos would likely start Brett Rypien and elevate Josh Johnson from the practice squad.

Only time will tell just how severe the injury to Wilson is and how long the Broncos might be without him.
