The Dallas Cowboys sit at 5-2 on the season heading into a week eight matchup against the Chicago Bears. Dallas went 4-1 without Dak Prescott, so the return of QB1 has the chance to make the Cowboys a legitimate contender in the NFL this season.

Still, there are ways that the Dallas Cowboys can continue to get better. One way that Dallas has attempted to do that is by trading for a run-stuffing defensive tackle. Another avenue for the Cowboys to explore is the free agent market.

CBS Sports broke down one move that each contender should make in the coming weeks. Most of the piece is focused around the upcoming NFL trade deadline. However, the recommended move for the Cowboys is signing an intriguing free agent.

OBJ to Cowboys?

Signing Pro Bowl wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is the move that CBS Sports suggests. The rationale is that the Cowboys need some upgrades in the wide receiver corps. Such a move, according to Bryan DeArdo of CBS Sports, would make the Cowboys "even tougher to stop."

"In Dallas, Beckham would essentially be asked to do what he did last year in helping the Rams win the Super Bowl," DeArdo wrote. "The former Pro Bowler would be asked to complement a receiving corps that is led by CeeDee Lamb, Michael Gallup, and Noah Brown. Beckham would make an already explosive Cowboys offense even tougher to stop."

It is no secret that the Dallas Cowboys could add more talent out wide for Dak Prescott, Kellen Moore, and Mike McCarthy to work with. Lamb has impressed, but the Cowboys would certainly love to find a way to get even better at the position.

Beckham is coming off a torn ACL and won't be ready until late in the season, if not the playoffs, at the earliest. Still, he flashed his big-play talent with the Rams — especially in the first half of last season's Super Bowl win.

OBJ will likely be courted by a number of teams when he is ready to sign. The Chiefs, Chargers, and Buccaneers are a few that are expected to inquire.

Beckham would certainly provide the Dallas Cowboys with an intriguing player that could add a real impact when it matters the most.
