Saints have big opportunity to right the ship from here on out
The New Orleans Saints have not at all started the way they hoped the new 2022 season would go. I'm sure when they were getting ready for the season, they did not think they would be 1-3 heading into Week 5, and last in the division. However, the season is young, so it isn't over […]
The New Orleans Saints have not at all started the way they hoped the new 2022 season would go. I'm sure when they were getting ready for the season, they did not think they would be 1-3 heading into Week 5, and last in the division. However, the season is young, so it isn't over yet.
The Saints have a great offense on paper with Jameis Winston throwing to the best trio of receivers in the league in Michael Thomas, Jarvis Landry, and Chris Olave. They also have the best all-around running back in the league in Alvin Kamara, who hasn't been healthy, though.
The defense has not been great, as the team now sits with the second least amount of sacks. This is something that definitely needs to change, as the season is starting to become not so young anymore.
However, with the way their schedule looks for the next few games, Saints fans shouldn't worry much. Their schedule can allow them to right the ship from here on out.
The Saints' next four games are very winnable
The Saints' next four games are indeed very winnable. 12 of the Saints' next 13 games are against opponents without a winning record, meaning they are either 2-2 or worse.
Now, that doesn't mean all of those games are winnable because there are some really good teams who are currently 2-2. However, it should shed some light on the situation.
The Saints' next four games, though, are definitely winnable. They are looking to face four teams that are struggling a bit, in very similar situations to the Saints.
On Sunday the Saints will play the Seahawks, who are 2-2. We know they are not as good as their record would suggest, and this game is very winnable. The Bengals are the Saints' opponent next week, and they are also 2-2. Yes, they are a good team, but they have problems that cannot be ignored. Their offensive line has quite literally lost them games.
Then the Saints will play the 2-2 Arizona Cardinals, who have struggled mightily this year. They have a terrible offense, and their defense has been riddled with injuries.
And of course, their game after that is the Las Vegas Raiders, who looked to be one of the league's worst teams last week as they were 0-3. Now, at 1-3, they look better, but definitely not better than the Saints.
The Saints have plenty of opportunities to turn their season around. Now, they just have to go out and execute.
