Odell Beckham Jr. has been heavily linked to the Dallas Cowboys as of late. The three-time Pro Bowl receiver is set to visit the Cowboys in the near future, and a deal could potentially get done before too long.
The Cowboys see Beckham as a player that can put their offense over the top. OBJ would provide Dak Prescott and the offense with another weapon to pair with CeeDee Lamb, Michael Gallup, Tony Pollard, and Ezekiel Elliott.
Cowboys players have made it known that they want OBJ wearing The Star. From Prescott to Micah Parson, seemingly the entire roster has voiced their support in signing the electric pass catcher. That certainly seems notable.
However, the latest news might put a damper on those plans and end the party before it even got started.
OBJ complicates things for Cowboys
Odell Beckham Jr. is one of the most high profile athletes in the NFL. It's no secret that enjoys the spotlight. And there's nothing wrong with that.
But, Beckham is in the news for something other than his next potential NFL squad. He was involved in an incident that doesn't appear to paint a favorable picture for the talented wideout.
Beckham was reportedly removed from a flight leaving Miami on Sunday. Tom Pelissero of NFL Network shared a report from the Miami-Dade police. The report stated that Beckham "was in and out of consciousness" and even refused to depart the plane.
A video of the aftermath surfaced on Twitter:
Not the best look for a player looking to help a team in the postseason, to say the least.
It is probably doubtful that this is what deters the Dallas Cowboys from signing Beckham. Of course, it's never easy to turn down an opportunity to upgrade the roster when given the chance.
Still, it's drama. Unnecessary drama and a reminder of the spotlight that comes with OBJ. If there's one thing about the Cowboys, it's that the franchise does not need any more drama than what already surrounds America's Team.
