Week 6 wasn't the best for the Dallas Cowboys. The loss to the Philadelphia Eagles was enough, but defensively, they didn't perform well in the first half which ultimately sealed their fate.

Cowboys' defensive coordinator Dan Quinn didn't hold back his frustration about the plays his unit didn't make against the Eagles. Now, with the Detroit Lions on deck this Sunday, linebacker Micah Parsons, who isn't happy with what went down last Sunday either, sent a message for the mindset of the Cowboys' defense this week.

“It’s shark week," Parsons said.

“S***, no matter where you at. No matter what’s out there. We gon’ beat ‘em up. We just gotta go do it.”

Parsons and the Cowboys' defense tightened up in the second half against the Eagles last Sunday, yielding just two field goals. However, it was the first game that the Cowboys' defense allowed more than one touchdown. Also, the Eagles scored touchdowns on 75% of their red zone attempts when teams were just converting 33.3% against the Cowboys in the first five weeks.

Last season's Defensive Rookie of the Year was a bit dejected after losing to the Eagles, claiming his unit has to step it up going forward.

"We have to do better for them," said Parsons. "I felt like we let them down today. It’s weighing on me heavy because the type of pride I hold for this defense.

"It hurts a lot."

Luckily for the Cowboys, they get quarterback Dak Prescott back this week, so points should be a little easier to come by. However, the frustration of Parsons is understandable because of the standard the Cowboys' defense has set as they currently ranked first in sacks (24) and third in fewest points allowed (16.3).

Parsons has six sacks on the season, recording three multi-sack games (tying his total from 2021). Over the last four games, however, he's gone without taking the quarterback down in three of them, so he'll be chomping at the bit to set the tone against the Lions.

Smart money says that Parsons will be flying around the field like a madman against the Lions, or a shark in the ocean patrolling for prey.
