As bad as the Dallas Cowboys and the NFC East have been in 2020, the division notched two pretty big wins in week 13.

First, the New York Giants knocked off Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks on the road behind a strong defensive effort that got after Wilson all game long. It was a statement win of sorts for first-year head coach Joe Judge and put the Giants in first place of the division.

Then on Monday, the Washington Football Team followed that up with a big win of their own by giving the previously undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers their first loss of the 2020 season. Montez Sweat and Chase Young created havoc all night long, and Alex Smith did just enough to help Washington pull off the upset.

Both games showed that New York and Washington are favorable trajectories thanks, in large part, to their defenses. Wilson's Seahawks were held to just 12 points, while Ben Roethlisberger had multiple passes batted down and struggled at times against the Washington pass rush.

The Dallas Cowboys have an opportunity to grab a big win in week 13 as well.

The Cowboys are playing the rare Tuesday Night Football game against the Baltimore Ravens to close out week 13. Star Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson missed last week's contest against the Steelers because of COVID-19, but Jackson will start against the Cowboys.

Dallas has struggled for much of the 2020 season. A big reason for that is all of the injuries that the Cowboys have had — ranging from quarterback Dak Prescott to offensive linemen Tyron Smith, La'el Collins, and Zack Martin to rookie cornerback Trevon Diggs and more. The team looked to be turning the corner a little bit after a surprising road victory over the Minnesota Vikings in week 11, but the Cowboys came back to earth in an embarrassing home loss to Washington on Thanksgiving Day.

The Ravens had their fair share of struggles this season, as well. Baltimore lost only two games in 2019, but they currently sit at 6-5 and third place in their own division ahead of the matchup with the Cowboys. Still, despite Lamar Jackson's struggles this season, the Ravens have one of the most dynamic and electrifying players in all of football that can change a game on one play.

Strong run defense will be key on Tuesday evening. Baltimore loves running the ball with Jackson and their stable of running backs to wear down defenses and control the clock. Add in the fact that the team lacks many viable options at pass catcher outside of tight end Mark Andrews, John Harbaugh has utilized the ground game a ton.

Baltimore has the second best run offense in the NFL, while the Cowboys have their worst run defense in football. That does not seem like a recipe for success, but Dallas will have to hold its own in the trenches to have any chance of coming out with an impressive victory over a potential AFC playoff squad.

Draft picture is shaping up more and more.

With both New York and Washington getting to five wins on the season, it is becoming clear that one of those two teams will likely come away with the division crown. That is good news for the Cowboys if you are eyeing a top draft selection.

As it sits right now before the Ravens game, the Dallas Cowboys would currently pick at fifth overall in the 2021 NFL Draft. Right behind them? The Philadelphia Eagles at number six.

It would be quite the turn of events if things hold true and the two teams that were expected to battle for the NFC East both pick in the top-six while the two teams thought to be among the worst in the NFL battle it out for the automatic playoff berth. That is 2020 in a nutshell.

Dez Bryant versus the Cowboys will be interesting.

One of the biggest storylines surrounding Tuesday night's game is that Dez Bryant will be playing against the Dallas Cowboys for the first time since the team parted away with the former star receiver. Bryant was recently added to the Ravens active roster, and he will be wearing his number 88 uniform against his former squad.

Bryant has not had a breakout game for the Ravens, but he is still worthy of attention. The Cowboys have struggled in the secondary all season long — especially with Diggs sidelined — and it would not be a surprise to see the Ravens want to get the ball in Dez's hands tonight.

Dez Bryant is one of the most beloved players in recent Dallas Cowboys history, and it will be cool to see him back on an NFL field during a Cowboys game — even if it's in a different uniform.
