The Green Bay Packers (7-8) take on the Minnesota Vikings (12-3) in a rivalry renewed. In their first meeting, the Vikings won big at home, leading to what would be a tumultuous first nine games.

Since then, however, the Packers have won four of six. Becoming the hottest team in the NFC and are now within striking distance of a wild card spot.

Despite the Vikings being the NFC North Champions and double-digit winners of their first game, the Packers are 3.5-point favorites this weekend.

The main reasons are the Green Bay Packers rejuvenated passing attack and Minnesota's struggling secondary.

On the year, the Vikings pass defense ranks among some of the worst in the league.

  • Passing yards allowed: 32nd
  • Completion percentage allowed: 26th
  • Yards gained per attempt: 31st
  • Yards per completion: 29th
  • Expected points added through the pass: 26th

The Packers passing game is experiencing a second coming. With not just the rise from rookie's Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs, but the usage of RB Aaron Jones, TE Robert Tonyan, plus the return of Randall Cobb and career year of Allen Lazard.

Momentum is a dangerous thing in the hands of people who know how to use it. Right now, Green Bay has the momentum and is playing as one of the best teams in the NFL.

If the Vikings secondary continues to struggle against the Packers passing attack, the playoffs are within grasp.
