The Dallas Cowboys have been busy following a tough loss to add talent to the team. They've done so by signing three players to the practice squad over the last couple of days.
On Tuesday, it was iOL Brock Hoffman and WR Antonio Callaway, who could provide speed to the Cowboys' receiving core.
On Wednesday, Dallas signed edge rusher Takk McKinley to the practice squad. McKinley was already in the Cowboys' sights after working him out this summer.
McKinley, a former first-round pick for the Atlanta Falcons in 2017, is coming off of a torn Achilles injury in 2021. The Cowboys haven't shied away from such situations in the recent past as evidenced by starting free safety Malik Hooker, who arrived on similar terms last year.
Obviously, Dan Quinn has a relationship with the edge rusher who has been the Falcons' HC when Takk was drafted.
This year, the recent Cowboys' addition has spent time with the Tennessee Titans (practice squad) and the L.A. Rams (played four games in a very limited role).
While McKinley hasn't had the career he hoped for after being drafted in the first round, there's no denying the Cowboys have been successful in these sorts of bets before.
The Cowboys already own the best pass rush in the NFL at the moment but McKinley provides depth for what's already the biggest strength of this team.
