Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals will take on the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football. Much of the talk about the game will be regarding the Cowboys without their star signal-caller Dak Prescott for the remainder of the season.
It remains to be seen how successful the Dallas Cowboys are with Andy Dalton at the helm in place of Prescott. Prescott was on pace to shatter the single-season passing record and was performing as well as ever. Dalton is not on the caliber of Prescott, but he is a capable backup with an established history as a starter in this league.
On the other sideline, the Cardinals are fully confident in their quarterback. Kyler Murray, Dallas native, appears to be one of the NFL's next big stars with his strong arm, elite speed, and impressive improvisational skills. Many Cowboys fans are very familiar with everything that Murray brings to the table.
Murray starred at Dallas-area Allen High School from 2012 to 2014, torching Texas high school defenses each and every week as he posted an undefeated record during his three seasons with the Eagles. The man that the Cowboys defense will be tasked with slowing down is often regarded as the greatest player in Texas High School Football history.
Murray's incredible resume includes an undefeated record inside AT&T Stadium.
At Allen, Murray played multiple games in the same stadium that the Dallas Cowboys call home, including a thriller against DeSoto High School in the 2014 state playoffs. No team was any match for the terrific signal-caller, as he posted a 5-0 record — including three state championship wins in the highest classification in Texas.
The Texas native was the backup for Texas A&M when the Aggies defeated Arkansas 28-21 in 2015, but his biggest moment on the collegiate level inside the stadium that is often referred to as Jerry's World came later.
Murray led the Oklahoma Sooners to a 39-21 victory over the Texas Longhorns in the 2018 Big 12 Championship Game. The current Cardinals quarterback completed 74% of his passes for 379 yards and three touchdowns in the contest, helping him win the Heisman Trophy.
Kyler Murray has played in — and won — some big time games in the same stadium that he will be playing in on Monday Night Football. To make matters worse, the Cowboys defense is ranked 27th in total defense and has given up big plays in both the pass and run game over the course of the early part of the 2020 season.
Murray is one of the more special talents across the National Football League and has the ability to attack defenses with both his arm talent and legs. The Dallas Cowboys have a tough challenge on their hands in week six.
If his history in AT&T Stadium is any indication, Kyler Murray is in store for a big performance in Arlington.
