The Buffalo Bills escaped Detroit with a win over the Lions on Thanksgiving, 28-25.
With the victory, Josh Allen continued his impressive streak on Thanksgiving.
Members of Bills Mafia on Twitter were quick to point out just how ugly some of the aspects of the game were. Specifically, the offense.
The once high-powered Bills offense has been struggling in the passing game recently. Some of this can be attributed to the recent injury of Josh Allen's throwing shoulder. Additionally, having a new offensive coordinator may be at play as well.
Nevertheless, fans are concerned.
During the media availability on Friday, there were plenty of important questions that went around.
Specifically, the availability of Von Miller and the lackluster offense as of late.
But it was Stefon Diggs, however, who caught the attention of a lot of people with his perspective on why the Bills' passing attack has underwhelmed as of late.
"We're running the ball so efficiently that we probably [are] not passing as much as we used to," said Diggs.
The recent rushing success provided by Devin Singletary and co. is a new kind of Bills offense, but it's also a breath of fresh air.
And Diggs knows it.
"We're finding a balance. A real balance," said Diggs. "In past years we've been pretty pass-heavy. Motor (Singletary) and all the running backs do such a great job. "We're finding other ways to win. It's actually helping us."
But, obviously, that doesn't mean the passing attack can take a breather, by any means. There's a lot of work to do when it comes to all facets of the offense.
"We might not be as sharp in other areas but we're working at it," said Diggs. "Every year is a new year and I feel like we're growing as we're going.
"… We have such a balanced offense right now… we can do everything. We just gotta continue to work at it in practice, as well. So, that way when the pass plays do come up, we can be sharper."
When the strength of a team struggles, it's easy to understand why that becomes the largest talking point. If the Bills truly want to be Super Bowl contenders, getting Josh Allen, Diggs, and the rest of the passing game back on track is a necessity.
But, for right now, the Bills' rushing attack is giving people something else to talk about. And if it continues, they'll have even more to chew on as the weeks pass.
Regardless, the Bills know they have work to do. Plain and simple.
And with Allen and Diggs running the offense, the Bills are in good hands.
