On a short week, it is typically a good thing for an opponent to be shuffling quarterbacks.

So, for the Las Vegas Raiders, the LA Rams chasing Baker Mayfield may work in their favor. With the matchup taking place on Thursday, head coach Josh McDaniels revealed the hardest part about prepping for a short week on Wednesday. Part of it has to do with uncertainty surrounding who is quarterbacking the Rams. Another part of the difficulty has to do with knowing when enough is enough.

"You obviously have a lot of information to take in, in a short period of time," McDaniels said. "But you have to be able to make a good decision about when enough is enough, and let's just cut it there, and we don't need anything else. And at some point, you got to just  make a call on, ‘Alright, that's enough to go play the game.’ … So, it's always a little bit of a trick, but  I think our guys have had a great attitude. Our staff has done a good job of kind of cutting it down to what we need, and we'll start the game, and then all bets are off at that point."

Doing what got the Raiders here

For the Raiders, continuing their winning ways starts by relying on the element of the game that got them to this point — the rushing attack.

Limit Derek Carr's chances to make mistakes. It has worked to the tune of a three-game win streak. If McDaniels relies on what got his team here, he won't have to worry too much about the challenge. He'll have his guys ready to meet the moment.
