By now we all know just how this New Orleans Saints team wins football games. Well, it seems like we, the fans and media know, but the Saints themselves don't.
By just reading that first paragraph, you probably already know what I'm referring to, and, you are possibly triggered.
Saints' fans have dealt with this issue all year, in the coaching staff not playing their most reliable weapon, or not using him in the best ways possible.
Who may that be, well, Taysom Hill, the swiss army knife himself. He is one of the only guys in the league like him, if not the only one. He can do it all.
This is a guy that was a quarterback in college at BYU and came into the league as one. Of course, he has started some games at quarterback in the NFL, but has primarily been a tight end, or running back.
Against the Cleveland Browns, in the freezing weather, Hill reminded everyone why he should get more touches in the offense.
With how the weather was, we didn't really expect the Saints to have a successful game through the air. I mean, it was in the negatives all day. But, we did expect them to run it a bit and they did, with Kamara and Hill.
Hill finished with 9 carries for 56 yards and a rushing touchdown and was dominant in the second half.
Anytime the Saints give Hill at least seven carries, they are 14-1.
I think this game only further proved one thing, the Saints need Hill to play a crucial role in the offense to win games like these. As long as they have a quarterback who is as average as Andy Dalton, who turns the ball over as he does, they will need Hill.
It seems pretty obvious. I mean look back at the game against the Seahawks, or any other game they featured Hill in the backfield or at quarterback more than usual. They likely won.
He is a winner. He makes the plays that it takes to win, and the Saints should recognize that by now.
