Eagles' QB Gardner Minshew already knows the challenge the Cowboys' defense presents

Minshew mania is back, but this time it's taking over in Philadelphia with the Eagles. Yeah, he has played in three games for the Eagles so far this year and started two last season. However, he has yet to start a game wearing the Eagles' green this season.
It feels like every time this guy gets another shot to play, the mania starts back up.
With the unfortunate news of Jalen Hurts sitting out this week against the Cowboys, we will now get to see the amazing quarterback that is Gardner Minshew. This is a guy who was supposed to be a career backup but had a stretch of games in Jacksonville that was just crazy.
I mean, in his NFL career he has 42 total touchdowns and just 12 interceptions if that tells you anything. Now, in his first start this season, we will get to see it again, hopefully.
There may also be a chance we don't because whether we want to say it out loud or not, this Cowboys' defense is pretty good. And, Minshew hasn't played in a while.
"It's a game I have always been playing," Minshew told reporters in the locker room. It's the same 11-on-11. I feel great about the guys I'm going to go out there with, so I'm excited just to go compete with them."
Based on what we have seen from him in the past, I don't really think anyone is worried about Minshew knocking the rust off.
For one, this guy is a professional and is probably good enough to start on a few different teams around the league, in my opinion. Now, that doesn't mean he will, I just think he is better than let's say, Zach Wilson, Daniel Jones, Taylor Heinicke, Sam Darnold, Jarred Goff, Davis Mills, Kenny Pickett, and maybe even Mac Jones. You could also argue a few others.
Does that mean he will start over them? No. But talent-wise, I think he is absolutely better than all of those guys.
I think we could potentially see that this weekend, against a very good Cowboys defense. Without playing a snap this year, Minshew already knows what to expect from them, and the challenge they present.
"Yeah they are good," Minshew said. "They will stick you in coverage. They contest. Up front they are really good, they have a good pass rush. They have very talented guys up there that play very hard. Solid schematically. Coach Quinn does a great job with those guys. Great challenge and one I'm looking forward to."
Let's just think of this. Has Minshew ever had weapons as good as the ones he does in Philadelphia? I'll go ahead and say no. The guy we saw in Jacksonville has a chance to be paired with A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith on Sunday, against a great defense.
This defense they will be facing has the front runner for Defensive Player of the Year in Micah Parsons. They have another guy in the secondary who could have won the award last season in Trevon Diggs.
Just to tie everything into a bow, this is one of the biggest rivalries in football, with possible playoff implications, and the chance for an angry Cowboys team to get revenge.
This should be fun, to say the least.
