Matt LaFleur's first three years as the head coach of the Green Bay Packers made fans forget about the end of the Mike McCarthy era.

The Packers' surprising loss in London against the New York Giants on Sunday, however, brought the feelings of the McCarthy era right back to the surface.

And that's not just because Green Bay lost to New York. It's the fact that they lost despite being a nine-point favorite.

According to ESPN's Rob Demovsky, it's the Packers' largest upset loss since 2018 when Green Bay lost to the Arizona Cardinals as a 13.5-point favorite.

That loss to Arizona was McCarthy's final game as the Packers' head coach.

I'm not saying LaFleur needs to be fired — that would be crazy talk.

But it's certainly a bit concerning for Packers fans that the same things that were happening in 2018 are happening again in 2022.

The bad thing is that most of this is on the offense. Green Bay needs to quickly figure out how to make the passing game improve or they might be out of the playoff race before the midpoint of the season.
