Raiders, McDaniels

The Las Vegas Raiders won in a way that I don't anyone expected, ever. I mean an intercepted lateral returned for a touchdown with no time left on the clock is different, for sure.

However, even in a win, there are still some things that the Raiders could have done better, and I think we can all agree with that. I mean there is one thing that could be frustrating head coach Josh McDaniels, and that would be penalties on the offensive line.

"There's really no excuses," McDaniels said. "I mean, we all know that snap count to be having those types of issues now. And again, we've had some cleaner games recently. And then all of a sudden, to have as many as we did yesterday hurt us the way that they did and put us in long yardage. There's no excuses for those.

"We need to be able to go out and call a play in the huddle, break the huddle, and get to the line of scrimmage, and snap the ball without penalty before the play clock's down. So, no, we can’t do that – not inconsistently play good offense."

The Las Vegas Raiders ended with 13 penalties that went for 90 yards, while the Patriots did six penalties for just 30 yards, which is unacceptable.

Now, yeah, Bill Belichick and his teams are always very disciplined, but I'm sure McDaniels, coming from that tree, wants his team to be the same exact way.

Penalties can kill your team during a game, especially if the game is close. Penalties can very easily win or lose you a game, as we have seen very often this season. It needs to be fixed for sure.
