The Chicago Bears (2-3) are adding some much-needed help at the wide receiver position, announcing that WR N’Keal Harry has been activated to the team's 53-man roster.

Harry returned to practice last Wednesday from a high ankle sprain that landed him on injured reserve on Sept. 1. He underwent a procedure which kept him out of Chicago's first five games.

Harry, drafted by the New England Patriots in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft, was acquired by the Bears in July in exchange for a seventh-round pick in the 2024 draft.

Though Harry has struggled to catch on, playing in his fourth season in the NFL, there is a hope that he can contribute in this new environment.

Chicago, who is paper-thin at receiver, should be able to carve out a role in the offense for Harry. Bears QB Justin Fields has yet to hit his stride in this offense, but by adding a dynamic athlete like Harry to the mix, it should allow the second-year signal caller another option on the outside.

Harry stands at six-foot-four, giving Fields a sizable target with an extended catch radius.

By elevating him to the active roster, Chicago is leaving the door open for Harry to make his Bears debut against the Washington Commanders on Thursday night. This move also puts him on track to see action against the Patriots in Week 7.
