The Philadelphia Eagles and their fans received some undesirable news on Friday night at approximately 11 PM Eastern Standard Time.
Two weeks ago against the Chicago Bears, MVP candidate, and Eagles' star quarterback, Jalen Hurts hurt his shoulder when being thrown down to the ground on a sack. He finished the game, but you could tell it was bothering him.
He then missed the game against the Dallas Cowboys, in which backup quarterback Gardner Minshew played for him.
All week long we thought that there is a chance that Hurts would play. Why? Well, that's what head coach Nick Sirianni kept making everyone believe.
All week we heard how Hurts is built differently and how he could very easily play because he heals faster, and a whole bunch of things like that. But, come to find out, all of that was just to throw the opponent off in terms of game planning.
I have a feeling that the Eagles knew all along that Hurts would be out, as reported on Friday night.
Hurts was on the injury report Friday afternoon as doubtful. But, according to Tim McManus of ESPN, The Eagles plan to rest Jalen Hurts against the Saints. The decision came down to a health and safety issue, a source said, as Sirianni referenced today. Hurts’ functionality in his shoulder has progressed to a point where the team expects him back on the field soon.
This is some undesirable news for Eagles fans for sure, who know it would be an easier win with Hurts at quarterback and won't get to see the MVP candidate make his case even more.
