The Dallas Cowboys just got the news they have been waiting for.

After missing five games with a fractured thumb, quarterback Dak Prescott will start this Sunday against the Detroit Lions.

After being a full participant in practice on Thursday, Prescott made short and sweet when he was asked if he's returning to the field in Week 7.

"I am," Prescott said.

Prescott threw around 40 passes in practice. The former Offensive Rookie of the Year mentioned that there weren't any restrictions when it came to him slinging the ball around.

“I had a good practice today. I did everything. I wasn’t limited by any means. There wasn’t a pitch count. We were full-go. … I’m right where I need to be.”

Prescott was eager to get back on the field, especially last week when he ramped up his workload. However, the Cowboys took a cautious approach, and now, Prescott is grateful to not be on the injury report.

"I'm thankful that I'm healthy," Prescott said.

The Cowboys' offense has only averaged 21.4 points per game since Week 1. Adding Prescott back to the mix, although he'll need to shake off some rest, immediately becomes more formidable.

Welcome back, Prescott.
