Micah Parsons emerged as a phenom quite early in his career with the Dallas Cowboys. The 2021 first-round draft pick took the league by storm, nearly winning Defensive Player of the Year honors as a rookie.

Parsons proved that he is a versatile player that can make an impact wherever he lines up on the field. He is fast enough to run sideline-to-sideline and quick enough to get into the backfield and force pressure on the quarterback.

Simply put, there aren't very many — if any — players like him. The Dallas Cowboys struck gold when selecting Parsons at No. 12 overall in 2021.

Parsons reveals which position he will primarily play.

Micah Parsons played linebacker at Penn State and was drafted to play linebacker for the Dallas Cowboys. That makes sense given his 6-foot-3, 245-pound frame and athletic ability in space.

However, Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn was forced to utilize Parsons at edge early last season. DeMarcus Lawrence went down with an injury in week one, leaving a hole at the position opposite of Randy Gregory.

Parsons filled that role and then-some. He flourished when rushing the passer, often making offensive tackles look silly. His speed was too much for blockers, and quarterbacks were rushed to make decisions with the ball.

Despite his value at edge, Parsons still has unreal talent at linebacker. That is where the Cowboys plan on using Parsons for the majority of the time in his second seasons.

The elite defender reveled that he has been working with the linebackers during OTAs. That isn't too surprising, but is it notable because Parsons said that he has not been working with the edge rushers.

Dallas lost Gregory in free agency, but the team did add former Ole Miss defender Sam Williams to potentially fill that void. The Cowboys also re-signed Dorance Armstrong to play that role.

That would allow Parsons to shine from his linebacker position in Dan Quinn's defense. Regardless of where he is on the field, though, Micah Parsons will be sure to have an impact.
