There are two glaring needs for the Dallas Cowboys on the offensive side of the ball. Both the offensive line and wide receiver must be addressed through the draft in some fashion.
Sitting with the No. 24 overall selection in the first-round, the Cowboys should have some options early in the draft. There should be a high-quality prospect on the table for Dallas to take.
What position that the Cowboys opt to go with will be fascinating to see. What we do know, however, is that Dallas continues to do some serious due diligence with the wide receiver draft class.
COWBOYS MEET WITH STUD WRS
Treylon Burks out of Arkansas and Chris Olave from Ohio State are regarded as two of the best receivers in the 2022 NFL Draft class. The two play in very different ways, but both are highly productive and extremely talented.
Therefore, it comes as no surprise that the Dallas Cowboys are meeting with the two pass catchers ahead of the draft. With a need at wideout, both Burks and Olave present intriguing options in the first-round.
Dallas met with Burks on Monday of this week. An All-SEC performer, Burks was a star at the Joneses' alma mater. Perhaps that connection could lead to Burks wearing The Star in the NFL.
On Tuesday, the Cowboys met with Olave. Olave was part one of the best wide receiver tandems in college football last year with fellow projected first-rounder Garrett Wilson.
Burks is a physical receiver that has drawn comparisons to Deebo Samuel, AJ Brown, and Laviska Shenault. He is dangerous after the catch and carries the football like a running back.
Olave, meanwhile, is a burner that displays excellent quickness and burst. He is also dangerous after the catch, but the Ohio State product is known for being a deep threat with his 4.39 40-yard dash speed.
Either Burks or Olave would provide the Dallas Cowboys with a quality potential replacement for Amari Cooper and a nice complement to CeeDee Lamb.
