The Chicago Bears don't have a first-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, thanks to their decision to trade up for quarterback Justin Fields last year.
Chicago, however, can still land an impact player with their first pick (No. 39 overall) in the draft.
The latest mock draft from The Athletic has the Bears taking Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver George Pickens at No. 39 overall.

Pickens is a first-round talent, but he could fall in the draft due to barely playing in 2021 while recovering from a torn ACL he suffered last spring.
The former Bulldog is a tough player, with good quickness and excellent body control. He ran a 4.47 in the 40-yard dash, so he has enough speed to be successful in the NFL (though he's not a burner).
Pickens has WR1 type upside. Landing him in the second round would be a steal.
The Bears need to build their offense around Fields by giving him plenty of weapons. And Pickens would certainly be a nice weapon for the young quarterback.
